Another Month, Another Postcard!

My postcard for December is from Jewels over at According to Jewels! If you look carefully you can see in her message that she handmade these postcards because the only ones she could find looked too cheesy!

Thank you Jewels, I think the fact you took the effort to make your postcards makes them that extra bit special! Though I'm curious to know what the cheesy ones looked like lol!

If you wanna take part in the Postcard Campaign, head on over to J.Day at The Ramblings of Charlie Brown for more details.

Hello from Indiana!

My postcard for November is from CW Martin over at Tilting at Windmills! It arrived last week but I'm only getting round to posting about it now. And I suppose it's just in time too as this is the last day of November! I love getting these postcards, they're such a treat!

As I've said before, if you're interested in joining this Postcard Campaign, head on over to J.Day at The Ramblings of Charlie Brown for more details!

Special Delivery!

So normally I get very little in the post, virtually nothing most days but today I got two awesome things!

The first one being my second postcard which was sent by the lovely Tracy from It's an Average Life!

It's a mural by Mike Svob of Mill Street in 1948. I have no idea where Mill Street is but presumably it's in Chemainus on Vancouver Island, Canada!

So thanks Tracy, this made me smile today. And if you're interested in getting your own postcards, join J.Day's Postcard Campaign!

The next thing I got was my free book from Specsavers! Currently, they have this promotion going where you can get a free book after getting your eyes tested. And since I got mine tested not so long ago I was eligible! Seriously, it's a free book, who wouldn't?

It's called "The Legacy" by Katherine Webb. I've never heard of it before but it's the winner of the 2010 TV Book Club Summer Read so it must be good.

"In the depths of a harsh winter, Erica and Beth Calcott return to to the house where they spent idyllic summers as children. As Erica sorts through her late grandmother's belongings, strange fragments of family history, and vivid memories, break the surface of the present day...

Memories of their cousin, Henry, who disappeared one summer long ago. Of their grandmother, a bitter woman, full of a deep, dark hatred. As Erica sifts through remnants of the past, a secret emerges, reaching all the way back to a beautiful heiress in turn-of-the-century Oklahoma. As past and present converge, Erica and Beth must come to terms with two terrible acts of betrayal - and the heartbreaking legacy left behind."

Sounds pretty interesting doesn't it? I can't wait to read it but unfortunately it must wait it's turn as I've got tonnes of books waiting for me to delve into them first...
